These Are The Vine Stars Taking Over MTV's Account For The VMAs

A quick primer on the most famous people you may never have heard of.

MTV's Video Music Awards are tonight, and the network is trying something new. In addition to the Miley Cyrus-curated show, MTV is making a play for a young audience on another platform — Vine. MTV is using the six-second video network for a second screen experience, and Vine's biggest stars are being enlisted to make it happen. Among a certain set, Vine stars are the new Beatles. Or at least, One Direction. Yet for most people, they're completely famous and totally unknown. Here's who you'll see tonight.

Sam Stanley Is The First English Rugby Union Player To Come Out As Gay

“It is such a relief,” the 23-year-old international centre told The Sunday Times.

Sam Stanley, a rugby union centre for England Sevens, has come out as gay in an interview with The Sunday Times.

Stanley, who comes from a famous rugby family, played for Saracens, as well as for England U16 and U18. He is currently playing for Ealing Trailfinders.

In the Sunday Times interview, Stanley, who realised he may have been gay at age 10 or 11, talked about how he had felt suicidal in the past because of the struggle with his sexuality.

"I was standing on a bridge about four or five years ago, overlooking a motorway in Essex," he said. "However, looking back, the idea that I would jump was ridiculous, but it was as if I was thinking that I could get rid of the pain in one go.

"You are so worried about what people will think, and I thought I couldn't be a macho rugby player the way I was, and there was nothing else I wanted to do with my life."

This Aussie Rugby Star Got Tattoos In Support Of Marriage Equality And Indigenous Health

Kicking (life) goals.

Australian rugby league star Greg Inglis has gotten some new ink – and it's all for two causes important to the South Sydney Rabbitohs captain.

On Saturday, he posted a picture on Instagram showing off two new tattoos: a dotted symbol supporting Indigenous health advocacy group One Disease, and an equal sign for marriage equality.

Inglis urged his followers to visit the One Disease website, calling it an "eye opener". The organisation aims to eliminate preventable diseases from Indigenous communities, focusing first on scabies.

Currently, One Disease is running the #InkForGood campaign, encouraging people to wear a temporary tattoo and donate money to go towards fighting scabies in Indigenous communities.

Inglis joins other prominent Indigenous Australians Samantha Harris and Karla Grant in getting a permanent version of the tattoo.

Inglis's gesture of support for marriage equality comes after the NRL announced its support for the reform in July.

Inglis is currently off the field with a knee injury... but he's obviously kicking goals anyway. ? ? ?

Man Dies After Falling From Upper Deck During Atlanta Braves Game

The man reportedly fell from one level of bleachers to another during a home game at Turner Field against the New York Yankees.

After falling during the seventh inning, the man was treated at the scene then taken to an area hospital, the Braves announced on Twitter. However, he later died from his injuries.

The Atlanta Police confirmed the man's death to BuzzFeed News, but said his name had not been released while authorities worked to notify his family. Sgt. Greg Lyons said the man was in his early 60s.

Lyons said investigators at the scene found no indication that foul play was involved.

"It seems to be a tragic accident," Lyons added.

ESPN reported that witnesses saw the man lose his balance while yelling at Alex Rodriguez of the Yankees. The man reportedly then fell about 50 feet onto a lower level.
