From mojitos to milkshakes, we’ve got your back.
Turf Tavern
Blink and you’ll miss it; Oxford’s favourite garden pub is hidden down a secret passageway. The glorious Turf Tavern is all vintage bicycles leaning against the walls, bunting hanging from the eaves and a wide range of real ales. You may even see a "trashed" student – covered in glitter and whipped cream and wearing a bow tie. Wish them congratulations.
Angels Bar
Looking for a more personalised drinking experience? Angels is a little slice of heaven in the Oxford cocktail circuit, with an extraordinarily vast drinks list. Not only are the drinks aesthetically beautiful (rose petals! lavender!), they are inventive and delicious. Bat your eyes at Chris behind the bar and you might just get your own bespoke beverage. Otherwise, the English Rose. Every time.
The Victoria
The Victoria likes to keep things simple in its grand 19th century setting in the heart of trendy Jericho. It was opened in 2008 by the owners of Raoul’s cocktail bar down the road. This pub is heated by an open fire, with big comfy chairs and craft beers. There is no place cosier to enjoy a glass of red wine on a November evening.
The Trout Inn
The Trout Inn is the perfect end destination for a pub walk. The gastro-pub is located by Port Meadow and is less than an hour’s walk from the city centre. What better reason to get out of the city than to sit and watch the Thames flow past?
